Sir Doug's Thanksgiving Jam | 11/23/18 | Threadgill's World Headquarters | A re-creation of an infamous show at Armadillo World Headquarters on Thankgiving Day in 1972, featuring Doug Sahm, Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, and Leon Russell, along with Austin musicians including Sweet Mary Hattersley of Greezy Wheels on fiddle. Listed performers at the re-creation included Carolyn Wonderland, Warren Hood, Joe Faulhaber, Joe Beckham, Kevin Galloway, Billy Broome, Miles Zuniga, and many others. This was one of the last performances at Threadgill's World Headquarters before it closed, so it was an emotional show that highlighted the broad range of musical styles and talanted performers that represent the Austin music scene. It was was hosted by Chris Isaak, and performers included the Mavericks' Raul Malo, Brandi Carlile, Rosanne Cash, Elvis Costello, Neko Case, Ry Cooder, John Leventhal, Dr. John, Trombone Shorty, and the Nevilles Band, including Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, Brian Stoltz, Tony Hall, and Willie Green.
